Approved by the RPA Board September 1, 2010
Background
The
Repatterning Practitioners Association is the sole
organization responsible for setting standards of practice
for its members and through its Certification Program it
cultivates and attests to the basic competency of its
members. Only active members of the RPA can be named Student
members, Student Practitioners and Certified Practitioners.
Only active members of the RPA can be Student Practitioners
who by definition are members of the RPA I-Declare
Certification Program/ Community.
As members of the I-Declare Program, Student Practitioners
receive from the RPA and its Certification Board- the
current Certification Manual and necessary forms, access to
all materials, updates, notifications on the I-Declare
section of the RPA Members website. A Student Practitioner
can opt-in to receive announcements from the Certification
Board through e-mail which will direct them to the website
for full information. This special website also offers
concrete suggestions for Student Practitioners to assist
them in their journey
Student
Practitioners are given access to members of the
Certification Board on a continual basis through e-mail and
the RPA 800 telephone line. There are four seasonal
teleconference calls with the Certification Board designed
to connect members of the community to each other and to the
Board. There is a community listing on the website so that
members can continue to work with each other between
conference calls and seminars. When Student Practitioners
receive tutorial observations they are receiving them from
RPA approved Designated Observers who are acting as
qualified member representatives of the RPA using the
standards, procedures and materials of the RPA. Therefore,
in order to receive observations and do sessions that
qualify towards the fulfillment of Certification
requirements a Student Practitioner must be a Student
Practitioner who is an active member of the I-Declare
Program.
History
-
In
May and June 2009 all those who were on the RPA email
list were informed that they had to sign up to continue
receiving RPA notices by e-mail. .
(Note: basic, detailed Certification information is
available on the publicly accessible part of the RPA
website AND while we try to make it as convenient as
possible to stay abreast of RPA news it is [solely] the
responsibility of the individuals to visit the website
for current policy.)
-
In
June the RPA Membership website
http://www.hramembers.org/default.htm was updated
with the following information. The last part of the
section answering the question "HOW TO BECOME A
CERTIFIED MEMBER" states "Note - requirements
for sessions and demonstrated competencies are counted
from the date of enrollment as a Student Practitioner.
You must maintain your membership in good standing as a
Student Practitioner throughout the certification period
of demonstrating competence."
-
The
new I-Declare website was launched in June 2009
containing the newly revised version of the
Certification manual. On Page 9, it is written
"Phase
two in the certification process focuses on gaining
competence through practice. Only sessions you do after
both completing the Transforming Meridian Patterns Seminar
and your enrollment in I-Declare count towards your
certification requirements. (Waiving this second requirement
is allowed 7/1/07 through 6/30/09 inclusively)."
We now realize that a consolidated policy about Lapsed
Student Membership needs to be adopted. Because most of the
RPA lapsed members no longer receive e-mails, most of them
are unaware of the new clarifications of what has always
been policy affecting them and any new policy or
clarifications must be sent directly to the Student
Practitioners whose membership is lapsed.
Due to
very recent changes in the RPA Continuing Education policy,
all CEU’s for Student Practitioners, as of January 1, 2011,
must be taken in courses, days, or weekends named
Practitioner Skills Development which are approved by the
RPA.
Therefore our policy is:

Part II-
Timelines for the RPA I-Declare Certification Program
(Approved by the Certification Board July 27, 2009, Modified
and Approved 7/26/2010)
When
a student applies to the I-Declare RPA Certification Program
for Student Practitioner status
-
Upon
completion of the basic 6 seminars
a student may join the RPA Certification Program as a
Student Practitioner within 2 years of training.
-
Between 2 and 4 years
of the completion of basic training, they must take 16
hours of RPA approved Practitioner Skills Development
and have a Tutorial Observation with and RPA Designated
Observer, prior to being approved as a Student
Practitioner and their being authorized to receive the
Certification Manual.
-
5
years
after the completion of basic training, they must take
16 hours of RPA approved Practitioner Skills
Development and have two Tutorial Observations, at
least one month apart, with an RPA Designated Observer
prior to being approved as a Student Practitioner.
As
stated in the RPA Certification Manual, once a person has
joined the RPA
I-Declare Certification Program the timeline for the
completion of their Certification Journey is determined by
the individual needs of the Student Practitioner. That being
stated, being a consistent member in good standing (which
entails fulfilling the 16 hour CEU of in person Practitioner
Skills Development
requirement annually and the payment of annual RPA Student
Practitioner membership dues) is expected throughout that
individualized journey. Lapses in membership are intended to
be exceptions to the rule.
